Duette Pinot Noir Tasting Notes by Wine Expert, David Andrews, DipWSET
This wine hits you from the off with a lovely rich nose. A slightly perfumed sort of violet smokiness is intermingled with dried cherry and cranberry as well as an earthiness that evokes the forest floor tasting note of great Burgundies.
The first three things I wrote down on drinking it were silky, flavoursome and delicate. Flavoursome and delicate may seem incongruous but once you try it you'll find it makes sense: It is rich without being overpowering. A sensuous combo of vanilla and red fruits weave a heady mixture that showcases the finesse of the wine. This flavour is also enhanced by that perfumed violet note again and a woody spice.
If it was French, I'm sure you could knock the price up a fair whack!
